Cuttage Sapling Breeding Experiment of Toona ciliate var. pubescens

Cuttage experiment of Toona ciliate var.pubescens was conducted by taking one-year-old stem as cuttings treated with IBA.It was showed by the experiment that there were significant differences in sapling survival rate,height and basal diameter of the saplings when varied cuttings from different parts of the stems and different concentrations of IBA plant growth regulator were applied.By applying first-rate cuttings,the highest survival rate could reach 27.12%.By applying 6×10^-4 mg/L and 8×10^-4 mg/L concentration levels of IBA,the survival rate reached 32% and 30% respectively.Soaking the first-rate of cuttings with pure water and treating the second-rate of cuttings with 2×10^-4mg/L IBA solution would be beneficial to the growth of height and basal diameter of the saplings developed from.The sapling height and basal diameter reached 81.5 cm and 0.99 cm individually when first-rate cuttings were treated with pure water.When the second-rate cuttings were applied and treated with 2×10^-4 mg/L IBA,the sapling height and basal diameter reached 97.5 cm and 1.36 cm respectively.
