Key Seedling Breeding Techniques of Delonix regix

The experiment of Delonix regia seedling breeding showed that the sandy soil was the best substrate,the right seed collection time was in December. The germination rate of seeds soaked in the concentrated sulphuric acid for 20~25 min was 5~6 times higher than that of the control,whose germination duration was shortened by 43 d. The optimal sowing time was in late March,the sowing method was drilling with 10 cm×15 cm in plant and row distance,the appropriate density was 375 000 to 420 000 seedlings per hectare. Two year old large seedlings might be raised by transplanting the 50~60 cm high seedlings into large size containers between August and September in the first year. The transplanting survival rate was over 90%,and the growth rate of transplanted seedlings was 1.5~2.0 times higher than those seedlings from regular breeding method.
