Effects of Culture Mediums and Plant Hormones on Triterpenoid Production in the Cell SuspensionCulture of Cyclocarya paliurus

  • Effects of basic culture mediums and plant hormones on suspension cell growth,contents and productions of total triterpenes,oleanolic acid,ursolic acid,arjunolic acid and cyclocaric acid B in the cell suspension culture of Cyclocarya paliurus were investigated in this study.The results showed that MS+10mg/L NAA+05mg/L KT were most suitable for suspension cell growth of C.paliurus,and ultimately production reached 1203g/L.WPM+05mg/L 2,4-D+03mg/L NAA significantly improved total triterpenoid content in the suspension cells.Arjunolic acid,paliurus acid B,oleanolic acid and ursolic acid were detected in all the suspension cells,but the content of arjunolic acid and paliurus acid B was much higher than the others.However,basic culture mediums and plant hormones did not significantly affect the content of oleanolic acid,ursolic acid,arjunolic acid andcyclocaric acid B in the suspension cells.The greatest production of total triterpenoids was achieved in MS+05mg/L 2,4-D+03mg/L NAA, while the highest yield of different triterpenoid monomers was observed in MS+10mg/L NAA+05mg/L KT.
