Anti Ageing Properties of NanoZnO Modified Wood Plastic Composites

  • The performance of wood fiber reinforced high density polyethylene composites (WPC) after experiencing ultraviolet accelerated aging was investigated.The aging mechanism and the effect of different content of NanoZnO on the antiaging properties were studied by SEM and FTIR.The results showed that ultraviolet accelerated aging leads to the composites color changing,which can be better with NanoZnO modification. The bending strength of WPC decreased significantly after aging.The bending strength of blank samples decreased by 19.08% after 1 500 h aging,and by 15.04%,13.60%,13.71%, 12.00%,14.09%,respectively,for the WPCs modified with NanoZnO.SEM analysis showed cracks on the weathered surface of composites,and FTIR analysis indicated oxidation occurring on the surface during aging.
