Growth Traits Variation Analysis and Early Evaluation of Eucalyptus grandis Seedling of Different Provenance

  • In Danan Mountain forest farm of Guangdong Province,the experiment was conducted to select superior provenances of Eucalyptus grandis from 20 Australian provenances,and then analyzed the tree height and diameter of 35yearold seedlings in 2012. Results showed that the variation of DBH, tree height and volume of wood increment were significant among the provenances, and there was significant positive correlation between the DBH, tree height and volume. The largest growth of all provenances was No18696 (Queensland provenance), the average value of the DBH, tree height, and volume were 77233cm, 67500m, 00204m3, respectively, Those were 10266%, 10466%, 10811% of the population means, and the variable coefficient reached to 3158%, 2648%, 7263%, respectively. Through the method of synthetic weighted mark, 4 superior provenances were selected, which were No. 18696 (Queensland), 20917 (New South Wales), 16892 (Queensland), and 20668 (Queensland) .
