Analysis on Growth and Fruit Characters of Schima superba from the First Generation Seed Orchard Clones

  • Growth and fruit characters of 4a Schima superba clonal seed orchard in Xipi Stateowned Forest Farm, Hua′an County, Fujian Province were investigated. The results showed that ground diameter change range was 783-1380cm. The diameter change range was 468-938cm. The bifurcation number change range was 10-25. The clear bole height change range was 333-2990cm. The tree height change range was 330-488m. The crown width change range was 233-380m. The seed setting rate in 2014 and fruit setting rate in 2015 of A4 were the highest, up to 75%, they were 282 times and 421 times of the average, respectively. The seed setting rate was 2727% in 2014, fruit setting rate was 2091% in 2015. In 33 clones, 8182% of the clones had seed in 2014, 6061% had fruit in 2015, 1818% without fruiting in two years. The correlation between 2014 seed setting rate and 2015 fruit setting rate was extremely significant, whose correlation coefficient was 083. The seed setting rate and fruit setting rate were positively correlated with diameter, reached a significant level. The comprehensive score of A4 was the highest, up to 33442.
