Abstract
Reinforcing 60 Haimenkou sites water archeological wood with natural resins (hydrogenated resin and bleached shellac), determining the reinforcement shrinkage, physical and mechanical properties, surface contact angle, formaldehyde emission, antiloss and so on, comparing the evaluation indexes of reinforcement archeological wood with unreinforcement archeological wood′s and modern health wood′s.The results show that the color of reinforcement archeological wood is light redbrown. The average horizontal reinforcement shrinkage is 914%, the average vertical reinforcement shrinkage is 417%. The basic density increased from 016g/cm3 to 029g/cm3. The compressive strength parallel to grain increased from 367MPa to 1670MPa. The surface contact angle of the three facets increased significantly, which show the hydrophobicity of reinforcement ancient is enhanced significantly. The formaldehyde emission with perforator method is 1915mg/100g, so the storage conditions of reinforcement archeological woods are should be sealed. The mass loss rate in water loss test is 547%, which illustrate most of the phenolic resin in the specimen is fixed in the archeological wood. In summary, the indicators of reinforcement archeological with phenolic resin are significantly improved, which can meet the following transport, storage and exhibition.
