Sorption Characteristics of Pb(Ⅱ) on Ganoderma lobatum and Its Biochar

  • Ganoderma lobatum (C0) and its biochar (C400) were evaluated on biosorption of Pb (Ⅱ) from aqueous solutions under different conditions including adsorbent doses, initial pH, contact time and initial Pb (Ⅱ) concentrations. The results showed the optimum conditions of adsorbent doses was 4 g/L (C0) and 0.8 g/L (C400), pH 7 and contact time of 480 min andthe maximum removal efficiencies of Pb (Ⅱ) for C0 and C400 were 97.72% and 97.60%, respectively. The isothermal adsorption model of Langmuir and Freundlich could well fitted the biosorption processes of C0 and C400 for Pb (Ⅱ) and their maximum sorption capacity were 90.90 mg/g and 163.93 mg/g, respectively. Kinetic model fitting indicated that the biosorption processes of C0 and C400 for Pb (Ⅱ) followed well pseudo second order kinetics. The sorption rate of Pb (Ⅱ) on C0 was significantly higher than that on C400, but sorption capacity of C400 was greater than of C0.
