Research on the Recombinant Bamboo Furniture′s Joint Strength of 'L-components'

  • With recombinant bamboo as substrate, L-components jointed by such 5 methods as 'round tenon +PVAc', 'round tenon + chloroprene rubber adhesive', 'round tenon + 3 to 1 connector', '3 to 1 connector only', and 'screw + indices' will be tested in terms of compressive and tensile strength, and their respective influence on components′ joint strength will also be compared. Results indicate that screw joint represents superior strength, the lower strength of round tenons affects that of components despite its quite strong positioning function, PVAc is more suitable than chloroprene rubber adhesive for jointing round tenon and recombinant bamboos, 3 to 1 connector only is scarcely fit for joining recombinant bamboo components.
