Effects of Particles by 11 Greening Shrubs in Spring in Fuzhou City

  • In order to select high dust, particles of size less than 2.5 μm and 10 μm retained of greening shrubs for Fuzhou in spring, 11 kinds of evergreen shrubs widely used on the road were analyzed about their retaining ability per unit leaf area, per leaf and 3 different layers with their dust leaves. And it turned out: the order of dust retained was basically identical with the particles of size less than 2.5 μm and 10 μm, but any index can not be measured as its whole capacity; the shrubs which leaf surface were full of floss, deep ravines, net and deep veins, high density of stomata and curl, shrink were in favor of dust, particles retained. And measured in different units, the order will change; the retaining ability of shrubs such as Loropetalum chinense var. ′rubrum′, Aucuba japonica cv. ′variegata′, Carmona microphylla and Ficus microcarpa cv. ′golden leaves′ per unit leave area and Aucuba japonica cv. ′variegata′, Excoecaria cochin chinensis, Jatropha integerrima and Fagraea ceilanica per leaf were stronger; eleven shrubs mainly retained particles of size less than 2.5 μm, basically accounted for more than 50%; the ability of dust, particles of size less than 10 μm retained reduced with the increasing of layer and the down layer retained most.
