Charecters of Complex Film Made by Shellac and Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose

  • To improve physical and chemical performance of shellac film, adding HPMC (Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose) with the content of 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% into shellac film.Characters of the complex film were tested.The results showed that shellac and HPMC could be combined and made to film via physical blending, HPMC could enhance the film′s density.When ω(HPMC) was 40%, complex film′s Tg was lowest, melt temperature was highest, which needed most amount of heat and had optimum anti-melt property when it was used as heat-resisting material.When ω(HPMC) was 40%, the water-solubility and hygroscopicity of complex film increased with the increasing of HPMC′s amount.
