Comparative Essential Oil Composition of Navel Orange and Blood Orange Breed in Binchuan

  • Essential oil was extracted respectively from navel orange and blood orange of Yunnan by using steam distillation method. The chemical compositions of the essential oil were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The findings indicated that the extraction rate of essential oil was 0.65% and 0.61% respectively. And we identified 10 compounds in the essential oil from navel orange and 5 compounds from blood orange. The content of limonene accounted for 97.067% and 98.397% in navel orange and blood orange respectively.
