Physical and Chemical Properties of Typical Forest Soils in Yachang Orchidaceae Nature Reserve

  • Taking Yachang Orchidaceae Nature Reserve in Guangxi as a research area, soil samples of 3 typical forest types in the region were collected and their physical and chemical properties were determined.Single-factor analysis of variance and Duncan multiple comparison were used to analyze the physical and chemical indicators of various types of forest soil. Results showed that the total porosity, capillary porosity, and non-capillary porosity were the highest in T2, and T1 was the smallest in the 3 forest types. The bulk density of soil was the largest in T1.The changes of total N, available N, total P, total K, and available K were consistent in all soil layers, showing T2 > T3 > T1, and showing a vertical decrease from top to bottom.Different types of forest had great influence on soil nutrient status. The conifer and broadleaf mixed forest was helpful to regulate pH of soil, provide suitable soil conditions to orchids. And it could promote the increase of organic matter, N, P and K content and improve the soil nutrient status.
