Relationship of Particularly Serious Forest Fires and Meteorological Factors in Jilin Province

  • We have collected all forest fire data from 1969 to 1980 in Jilin Province, established an Excel database, Particularly serious forest fires are classified according to the damaged forest area, and the relationship between the particularly serious forest fires and meteorological factors in Jilin Province was studied. The results demonstrated that the wind directions which caused the particularly serious forest fires in Jilin Province were mainly west wind and westerly wind, especially southwest wind and northwest wind. The wind speed of 3-5 level was apt to occurrence of particularly serious forest fires. The number and area of particularly serious forest fires were the largest when wind speed was 4 level, and the temperature was 16-20℃.
