Analysis on Discoloration Causes of Woody Relics Reinforced by PEG

  • Different methods were used by PEG to treat the woody relics, the analysis of macrostructure and microstructure, Lab were used to study the relationship of color and luster change between different PEG molecular weight reinforced woody relics directly. This is of great significance for studying the decay degree and mechanism of woody relics. The study showed that the buffer solution had inhibitory effect for color deepened of woody relics after reinforcement. The color of the sample treated with oxalate buffer solution is closest to the natural color of wood. The effect of reinforcing woody relics which using the oxalate solution to process sample was better than using EDTA-2Na and PVP solutions, and the sample is more suitable for making wood section.
