Research Advance of Tannin Based Foam Materials

Based on the review of the research progress of tannin-based foam materials at home and abroad, it is found that the research abroad mainly focused on the preparation process and basic properties as well as the development of tannin-based compound foam materials, but the related research and development in China started late and didn′t form a complete research system. At present, the relevant research still lacks the guidance of chemical reaction mechanism. At the same time, the modification of tannin-based foam and the utilization of tannin-based compound materials will be the focus of the future research. Based on the abundant tannin extract resources in China, the processing route of tannin extract foam materials is explored, which will provide the theoretical basis for the industrialization application of tannin-based materials in China.
