Biomimetic Superhydrophobic Wood Based on Template Imprint

  • Wood surface was modified through the template imprint to get the superhydrophobic wood of nano-topography similar with red rose petal. The wettability of the samples was measured by contact angle tester. The chemical composition of the template was determined by EDS. The crystalline structure of the sample was determined by XRD. The thermal stability of samples was determined by DTG-60AH. The results indicated that the as-prepared biomimetic superhydrophobic wood does not change the basic performance of wood, but has a high adhesion superhydrophobic property; The stiatic water contact angle of the bionic superhydrophobic wood is about 157.5° ± 0.5°, which it can be prevented the wood absorbing moisture.bionic superhydrophobic wood has excellent thermal stability, the mass loss of pyrolysis process is about 73.2%, which is lower than the untreated wood.
