Isolation and Identification of Endophytic Bacteria from Cibotium barometz and Its Antagonistic Effect

  • In order to isolate endophytic bacteria from Cibotium barometz of the rare medicinal plants, strains with exhibited significant antagonistic activities against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and Fusarium solani isolated from Polygonatum kingianum were screened out. Antagonistic bacteria were screened by dual culture and identified based on their 16S rDNA sequence analysis and physiological and biochemical traits, combined with Bergey's Manual of Determinative Bacteriology. The results showed that 31 endophytic bacteria strains were isolated from Cibotium barometz, the strains JMGJ01 exhibited significant antagonism effect against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and Fusarium solani, characterization showed that JMGJ01 strains belongs to the genus Paenibacillus.
