Abstract
The antennal sensilla of female and male adults of Tomicus yunnanensis were observed by scanning electron microscopy. The results showed that, there were no significant differences in antennae morphology, antennae length, sensor type and distribution between male and female adults of T. yunnanensis. There were 5 types of receptors, including sensilla trichodea, sensilla styloconica, sensilla zigzag (subtype 1-2), sensilla chaetica, bud-shaped sensilla, and a few number of glandular holes were also found. The sensilla trichodea is the majority, accounting for about 90% of the total number of sensilla. Sensilla mainly lined in rows on the club segment and occupied for about 92% of the total sensilla. In addition, there was also a small distribution of the sensilla in the flagellum and scape of the antennae, accounting for 2% and 4%, respectively.
