Main Anatomical Characteristics of Bamboo Culm Sheath as Packaging Materials for Pu-erh Tea

  • The main anatomical characteristics of bamboo culm sheath as packaging materials for Pu-erh tea were investigated using paraffin section and microscopic image analysis technique. The results showed that average length and width of upper epidermis structure, lower epidermise structure, parenchymal cell of fundamental tissue and vascular bundle were 15.61 μm, 12.25 μm; 88.80 μm, 13.11 μm; 53.30 μm, 28.18 μm; 235.75 μm, 167.18 μm, respectively. The average length and width of bamboo culm sheath fiber were 1.34 mm and 12.32 μm, length-width ratio was 110.03. The average thickness, lumen diameter and cell wall-lumen ratio were 8.42 μm, 3.91 μm and 2.35.
