Study on Change of Land Cover Type and Carbon Storage During 1980-2018 in Guiyang

  • In this study, data of land cover in 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010 and 2018 were used to quantitatively analyze the land cover type distribution, change trend and the changes of carbon storage in different regions of Guiyang City from 1980 to 2018, and the relations between land cover type and carbon storage was discussed. The results show that the main change of land cover types from 1980 to 2018 is the increase of urban land use. In terms of spatial distribution, the area of different types of land cover in the downtown of Guiyang changed the most obviously. The increase of urban land area in Guiyang is mainly from forestland, grassland and farmland. The carbon storage in the downtown of Guiyang changed the most, especially decreased 159 million tons during 2010-2018. The change of area of forestland, farmland and grassland has a significant positive correlation with carbon storage. Meanwhile, there was a negative relationship between the change of area of urban land use and carbon storage.
