A Floristic Study of Wild Seed Plants in Shifengxi National Wetland Park, Zhejiang Province

  • Based on field investigation, specimen collection and relevant literature data, we compiled a list of wild seed plants of Shifengxi National Wetland Park in Tiantai, Zhejiang Province, and analyzed the composition of seed plant flora and its geographical distribution types, and the results were compared to 5 neighboring wetlands. The results showed that there were totally 218 natural seed plant species belonging to 167 generas and 75 families in Shifengxi National Wetland Park, which was abundant in plant species. In terms of family composition, 15 dominant families were identified, making up 20%of the total seed plants familie in this region. However, there was no dominant genus because most genera consisted of only one or few species. There were 45 species of trees, 29 species of shrubs, 16 species of vines and 128 species of herbs in Shifengxi National Wetland Park in Zhejiang Province. At the family level, the floras were mainly pan-tropical, showing a certain tropical origin property. At the genus level, the proportion of tropical and temperate distribution genera were approximately 1∶1, indicating that the temperate elements gradually spread in the study area during the formation and evolution of modern floras, and the floras show a certain transitional character. According to the compare of floristic compositions among Shifengxi National Wetland Park and its 5 neighboring wetlands, the floristic compositions in Shifengxi National Wetland Park is similar to the high latitudes of the north, and the relationship with the low latitudes of the south is more distant.
