Spatial Structure Analysis of Pinus kesiya var. langbianensis Natural Forest

  • Taking Pinus kesiya var. langbianensis natural forest in Mojiang County, Pu’er City, Yunnan Province as the research object. Based on the investigation of sample plot data, the spatial structure characteristics of P. kesiya var. langbianensis natural forest analyzed by using 3 spatial structure parameters of angle index, mingling and neighborhood comparison, and establish a multivariate distribution of them. The results showed that in the natural forest of P. kesiya var. langbianensis, P. kesiya var. langbianensis is the dominant species, accompanied by hardwood broad-leaved species and softwood broad-leaved species in the upper layer, and held abundant small other trees in the understory. In the natural forest of P. kesiya var. langbianensis, its spatial distribution is the even distribution and near to the random distribution. In addition, the mingling is between intensive-mingling and extremely intensive-mingling species. It is a typical mixed forest. The DBH neighborhood comparison is between subdominant to middlebrow status. From the multivariate distribution of structural parameters, we see no matter how the 3 structure parameters were combined, all the tree species in the natural forest of P. kesiya var. langbianensis, most were randomly distributed or well mixed under different structural combinations.
