Abstract
Poplar and red oak were used as raw materials to prepare 5 thicknesses of transparent wood by retaining lignin and directly impregnating the resin. The physical and chemical properties of transparent wood were studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, color difference analysis, analysis of water contact angle, mechanical strength test and scanning electron microscope test. Studies have shown that different trees have different light transmissive thicknesses; the same tree species produce different degrees of light transmission in different directions; the light transmittance of wood is lower than that of original woods, the color tone tends to be warm and the mechanical properties are greater than original woods. Wood with a certain light transmission capacity can bring a new life experience and provide more choice and novelty for decoration materials.
