Soil Ecological Stoichiometry Characteristics of Different Aged Quercus acutissima Plantations

  • Taking Quercus acutissima plantations of different forest ages(18, 30, 45, 67 a) in Jurong City, Jiangsu Province as the research objects, the contents of soil and microbial biomass carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus were measured, and the ecological stoichiometry characteristics were analyzed. The results showed that with the increase of forest age, the contents of soil organic carbon(SOC) and total nitrogen(TN) increased, while the total phosphorus(TP) increased first and then decreased, and was at a low level(the average TP content was 0.42 g/kg). There was no significant difference in soil ecological stoichiometry among different forest ages. There was a highly significant positive correlation between MBC, MBN and MBP and SOC, TN and TP content. Soil TP was significantly negatively correlated with MCB / MBP and MBN / MBP; soil MBP was significantly negatively correlated with C / P and N / P. In summary, the soil of Q. acutissima forest showed a lack of total phosphorus and available phosphorus, and the stand growth was severely restricted by phosphorus. Soil microbial biomass of Q. acutissima forest was influenced by soil nutrient content, and there was a significant ecological stoichiometry coupling relationship between them. This study was conducive to systematically and comprehensively revealing the soil nutrient status of Q. acutissima plantations, and guiding the rational management, nutrient regulation and productivity improvement of Q. acutissima plantations.
