The Geographical Distribution of Conifers in Yunnan

The germplasm superiority of conifers in Yunnan ranks first in all provinces(regions) of China. The diversity of 96 species belonging to 25 genera, 6 families is the highlight of the ‘kingdom of plants’, which is related to the special geography and diverse geological landforms in Yunnan. The geographical distribution of the germplasm was studied: 1) Based on the distribution and change law of species at different levels of ecological geography (horizontal, vertical, network intertwined), as well as the characteristics of relict preservation; 2) The forestry properties of conifers on the construction and geographical distribution of local dominant coniferous forest ecosystems are emphatically analyzed; 3) The distribution, growth and preservation of the species, genera and families of all native conifers, including protophyte or new species, ancient or relict, pan-range or narrow-range, state-protected rare endemic species, are determined accordingly.
