Study on Preventing Avian Coccidiosis with Eupatorium adenophorum

The avian coccidias ova were cultured after being treated with 8 kinds of extracts from leaves of Eupatorium adenophorum by varied solvents. The results of the experiments showed that the mean mortality rate of the ova treated with the extracts was significantly higher than that of the control. It showed the development of coccidias ova could be inhibited by the extracts from E. adenophorums leaves. And the chicks were inoculated with the coccidias spores treated by the 8 kinds of extracts in the experiment. The result showed that the infecting capacity of the coccidias spores treated by the extracts descended. The symptom of chicks in the control groups was obviously more serious than that of in the experimental groups.
