Introduction Experiment of Phyllostachys iridescens in Mountainous Area of Fujian Province

Phyllostachys iridescens was introduced to the mountainous areas of Fujian Province in 2003 from Zhejiang Province in order to enrich the shoot producing bamboo species. The experiments showed that the survival rate of P. iridescens plantation in Fujian was high under right cultivation and tending measures. The shooting rate in the first and second year after planting was high, the basal diameter and bamboo height indexes were good. Compared with P. praecox, P. iridescens could better adapt to the mountainous site conditions and the productivity might be remarkable by highyield cultivation.
