Measurement and Analysis of Ecological Footprint in Luojiang District of Quanzhou City from 2000 to 2005

  • Based on the statistical data, the ecological footprint of Luojiang District, Quanzhou City from 2000 to 2005 was analyzed in the light of the temporal sequence.The results showed that the ecological footprint per capita increased from 12833hm2 to 15515hm2 in six years, and the ecological loading capacity per capita declined from 03100hm2 to 02929hm2, and the ecological deficits increased from 09310hm2 to 12186hm2The results revealed that the production and living intensities have been greatly increased since the foundation of Luojiang District, which has far exceeded the loading capacity of the natural ecosystem.It was proposed that strong measures should be taken to reduce the ecological deficit by local government and ensure the sustainable development of Luojiang District.
