Multipurpose Management Practice of Argentine Plantation and Its Inspiration

The pressure to the natural forest resources has been continuously increased owing to the increasing demand of mankind,which made the development of artificial plantation has been widely concerned around the world.How to realize the sustainable development of plantation and effectively conduct the multipurpose management of plantation are the key issues and challenge to be tackled with in the development course.Although China is still the country with largest area of plantation in the world,the sustainable development of plantation has been severely constrained by the low productivity and instability of plantation ecosystems.Based on the field trip study,holding symposia and discussion with local people and literature research,the management theory and practice of multipurpose plantations in Argentina were analyzed,and the experience worthy being learnt from were summarized in order to provide the management of multipurpose plantation both in China and in the world with reference and inspiration.
