Abstract
Three parameters including uniform angle index, mixing index and the neighborhood comparison were used to analyze and assess the spatial structure of Quercus mongolica stands based on the oriented survey of two pieces of 50 m×50 m plots. The results showed that the plant distribution of the two plots was both in uniform pattern, and the species composition of them was simple in both of the two plots with congregation of the single species of Q. mongolica. It was showed that the differentiation of the both diameter neighborhood comparison and tree height neighborhood comparison of Q. mongolica trees was significant, and the growth of other mixed tree species was mostly depressed. In order to enrich species diversity of the stands, increase the species mixing degree and to improve the optimization of stand structure, it was proposed that artificial regeneration or rational tree species introduction should be adopted.
