Physiochenmical Properties and Industrialized Utilization of Ricinus communis Stalk

  • The physical and chemical properties of Ricinus communis stalk were studied and compared with those of poplar wood in order to make better use of the crop residue resource.The results showed that the R.communis stalk had superior physical and chemical properties,and its chemical composition was similar to that of poplar,which theoretically proved the feasibility that the stalk might be used as raw material for industrialized production.The “farmer-broker-corporation” trinity collection model for the raw material and the pure,alternative and integrated three types of utilization models were proposed to overcome the disadvantageous factors such as seasonal yield and uneven temporal distribution of the raw material supply,and to achieve significant economical and ecological benefits from the industrialized production with R.communis stalk as the raw material.
