Nutrition Effects on the Growth of Castanopsis hystrix Container Bred Seedlings

Aiming at exploring the effects of nutrition level on the seedling growth indexes, revealing the actual need of fertilizer by the seedlings, and then determining the rational application dosage and frequency, a fertilization experiment was conducted with Castanopsis hystrix container bred seedlings, which were treated with different levels of fertilizer concentrations at various application frequencies based on a randomized block design. A comprehensive analysis on the growth rate, biomass, some morphological characters and qualitative indices of the tested seedlings was made. Taking the cost into consideration, it was showed that the suitable fertilization regime for the Castanopsis hystrix container seedlings was to apply 1.0% compound fertilizer once every 21 days.
