Monitoring Study of Pissodes punctatus Population by Insect Attractants

  • The dynamic change of Pissodes punctatus population was monitored on Baogai Mount Forest Farm of Baoshan Municipality by applying different attractants. The results showed that 3 types of attractants had better trapping effect. Attractant B (3∶1∶0.002 of (+)-3carene, (+)-limenene and grandisol) trapped the most pest insects. The test of monitoring reliability showed that the natural logarithm of total catches by the 3 types of attractants had pretty good linear relationship with population densities of the plots. There was a good linear relationship between the natural logarithm of total catches by attractant B and the infested ratios. The monitoring results could factually reflect the population densities of Pissodes punctatus in the tested plots.
