Abstract
Based on the field investigations and GIS, habitat suitability of Syrmaticus humiae in the Nanhua part of Ailaoshan National Nature Reserve was assessed. The results showed that, the suitable habitat for Syrmaticus humiae was 204138 hm2 (806% of the total area); the less suitable habitat was 277584 hm2 (1096%); rarely suitable habitat was 1861281 hm2 (7349%); and the unsuitable habitat was 189699 hm2 (749%) when human disturbances were not taken into account. However, when influenced by human activities, less suitable habitat and suitable habitat decreased by 2730%和949%, respectively, while the area of rarely habitat and unsuitable habitat increased by 434%和068%. The present study showed that human activities have a strong impact on the habitat of Syrmaticus humiae.
