Effect of Environmental Factors on Soil Respiration Rate of Bamboo Plantation in Coastal Sandy Area

  • The influences of different environmental factors upon the soil respiration rate in two species of bamboo plantation in costal sandy area of Fujian Province were studied. The results indicated that there was obvious diurnal change in the soil respiration rate, which showed a regular single apex rhythm, in both of the two species of bamboo plantations. The soil respiration of Dendrocalampsis beecheyana var. amoenus plantation was significantly higher than that of Dendrocalampsis oldhami plantation. The soil respiration rate of the two species of bamboo plantations was mostly influenced by the soil surface temperature and 5cm deep soil temperature, and there was extremely significantly positive correlation between the soil respiration rate and the soil temperature. The multiple linear regressions models were built for the two species of bamboo plantations to express the relationship among the soil respiration rate and the main environmental factors in the costal sandy area of Fujian Province.
