Prediction and Control Effect on Jujube Garden Pests by Adhesive-Trap and Sex-Trapping Utensil

  • Adhesivetraps and sextrapping utensils were used in the 4year jujube orchards to study the prediction and prevention effect on Contarinia sp., and Lygus lucorum with different jujube cultivars by adhesivetraps and on Gropholitha molesta by the sextrapping utensils. The result showed that the number of Contarinia sp. and Lygus lucorum trapped by adhesivetraps on the shady side of the jujube trees from early April to late May was obviously more than that of caught on the sunny side of the trees. The pest caught after late May was mostly Lygus lucorum and there was not much difference in the pest number trapped on either side of the jujube trees. The number of pests caught per square of the adhesivetrap from the cultivar ‘Luzao No1’ was least. The control effect of sextrapping utensil with one or two lures on Gropholitha molesta was almost the same. The occurrence rules of Gropholitha molesta predicted by sextrapping utensils hung at different heights on the trees was similar, but the number of Gropholitha molesta caught by sextrapping utensils hung at different heights on the trees was quite different.
