Temperature Change in Each Soil Layer in Plantation with Different Stand Structure After ClearCutting

  • The effect of different slash cleanup ways (prescribed burning, strip heaping and scattered paving) on the surface soil (0-20cm) temperature change of clear cutting site of plantations with two types of typical stand structure in Fujian Province was studied. The results showed that the surface soil temperature of the felled woodland site was significantly higher than that of before the clear cutting, the amplitude of temperature change was related to stand structure and the slash cleanup methods The soil temperature change on the felling site of the coniferous plantation (Pinus Massoniana mixed with Cunninghamia Lanceolatawas) was larger than that of on the felling site of the broadleaved plantation of Eucalyptus sp.. The soil temperature change on the felling site was affected by the slash cleanup ways, the influence of the three types of slash cleanup ways on the soil temperature change of the felling site was ordered as prescribed burning > strip heaping > scattered paving. The temperature of 0-5cm top layer soil was most affected, and the difference in soil temperature change among the different slash cleanup ways decreased gradually with the increment of soil depth.
