Study on ROSBased Functional Division in Forest Park Master Planning ——A Case Study on Tianchishan Forest Park in Songxian County

  • Taking the master planning of Tianchishan National Forest Park as an example, the spatial distribution of scenic resources of the park was studied by means of grade evaluation on forest landscape resources, then the spatial layout of the categories of recreational opportunities in the park was determined by integrating with ROS technique, the functional division was made and the construction of the functional divisions was planned. The results indicated that the forest resources in Tianchishan Forest Park had been severely damaged with increasing tendency, the recreational categories and tourist experiencing types had become monotonous. Based on the grade evaluation on forest landscape resources and combined with ROS technology adjustment, the whole park was divided into 4 divisions, i.e., the ecological conservation area, the core scenic spot area, the general recreation area, and the management and service area. The spatial layout of the categories of recreational opportunities in the park was regulated according to the functional division in order to tackle with the overexploitation of superior scenic resources, while under exploitation of inferior scenery resources and other practical problems. The results of this study might be referred by functional division in the master planning for other forest parks.
