Abstract
the wood of Larix spp.and Populus ussuriensis were heattreated at different temperatures from 150℃ to 210℃ for 4 hours by biomass gas. Laboratory termite resistance test and fieldburied durability test were conducted on the two kinds of heattreated woods. Results showed that termite resistance of the woods decreased obviously after heat treatment. Weight loss of the two heattreated woods tends to increase according to the gradual increment of temperature. Temperature also has great influence on the natural durability of heattreated woods.190℃ and 180℃ were respectively the points of significant change for Larix spp.and Populus ussuriensis woods. Natural durability of Larix spp.wood was improved while that of Populus ussuriensis wood was deteriorated when they were heattreated at a higher temperature.
