Abstract:
This article reports the results of a survey of the Coccinellid fauna over the Hengduan Mountain region of Yunnan in 1984.66 species belonging to 30 genera,6 subfailies were collected and identified.Among the total 66 species,34 belong to subfamily Coccinellinae,1 to scymninae,5 to Aspidimerinae,8 to Chilocorinae,4 to Coccidulinae and 14 to Epilachnae,15 species are only known from Yunnan,2 are newly recorded to China.Of the total 66,47 species(71.2%) are widely distributed in the Oriental region,8(12.1%) are apparently of the palaearctic species,and 11(16.17%) suggest a trnsilional distribution from the palaearctic into the Oriental region.Three sub-regions for the Coccinellid fauna in the Hengduan Mountain region of Yunnan arc proposed by the author.They are.1.Dali sub-region:43 species;2.Nujiang sub-region:39 species;3.Zhongdian-Lijiang sub-region:21 species.The economic importance of some species of the family as pest predators has been evaluated.
