Abstract: Phyllanthus emblica is an important economic wild tree in Yunnan. It has rich resources and tremendous distribution, It grows fast, fruits early, yields well, and its bark and wood arc useful. It is a barren and droughtenduring species which can preserves water and soil. Therefore it is an important species in arid and hot valleys, and a pioneer used in afforestation in the low altitude barren mountainous areas. It has a good economic benefit, canbe utilized comprehensively, and is worth expanding energetically and planting extensively.
