Abstract: There are more than twenty species of Lycoris,distributing in the Eastern Asia and growing chiefly in China.The preliminary study indicates that in its distributing region,Eastern China is not only the centre of the genus' abundance and multiplicity,but also the possible centre of the genus' origin.Presumably the genus related originally with the ancient Mediterranean climate,taking account of It's curious summer dormant habit.
