Abstract:
This paper reports the serious damage to the artificial forest stands of Eucalyptus Leilin 1 by the Bombay locust
Patanga succincta (Johan.).A test of the host tree plots interplanted with pineapple has been carried out at Haikang Counnty,Guangdong, China. The preliminary test data show a promising result. The mean loss of height growth in the treatment plots is 12.3% lower than that of the check plots. The Eucalyptus stand interplanted with pineapple may be a hopeful agrisilvicultural measure to protect the Eucalyptus stand against the locust attack.
