Abstract: This article reports a study on a dominant chestnut snout beetle Curculio bimaculatus Faust in Yunnan.The distribution,infestation,and variation of wing spot of the pest at different geographical habitats are investigated.Its main bio-ecology is observed.The phenological methods are introduced to forecast the emergence date of the adults.Integrated Control measures are proposed,chiefly including ploughing the chest-nut fields after Autumn,utilizing Beauveria bassiana(Balsamo) Vnilemin,protecting and utilizing other natural enemies against this dominant pest.
