Abstract:
A new calculatingbrmula of torque capacity may be obtained by entirelybalancing the forces acting on the shoe of a centrifugal clutch and it is more accurate thanthe formula obtained usually from single balance on radial direction. Influence of bevelangle of driving force, friction coefficient between drum and shoe, mass of shoe,Elasticforce of return spring and centrifugal force of spring itself upon torque capacity are dis-cussed in this paper.Variation limits of parameters, which affect torque capacity of clutchand engine dvnamic characteristics, should be considered when designing mating relationbetween clutch and engine. The rotative velocity of sliding point on torque diagram is moreimportant for determing torque capacity of clutch than torque overload capacity on maxi-mum torque point.
