Abstract: E.camaldulensis was introduced from Australia to other countries more than one hundred years ago and considerable social. economic and ecological benefits were produced.Its selective breeding to speed breeding progression and bring about genetic improvement was a major problem. Although E. camaldulensis was introduced to Yunnan early,its research of breeding and genetic improvement is still backward. Present situation of E.camaldulensis research in China and other countries is reviewed and some suggestions and countermeasures are put forward in this paper.
