Abstract: Pissodes yunnanensis feeds on branchs and trunks of young Pinus yunnanensis.It has one generation a year in Lijiang and overwinters in the branchs and trunks of young Pinus yunnanensis when it is a larva.It begins to become the pupa during the first ten days of March and the adult emerges in the second ten days of May.Control methods are:1) collecting the dead trees and burning them before the pests become adults,2) spraying 1:400 4.5% cypermethrin and 1:400 20% imidacloprid pesticides during the adults periods.
