Abstract:
A study was made to understand the relationship between the occurrence of
Pissodes puctatus and the growth status of the host trees through on the spot investigation on Zhehai State Forest Farm in Huize County.It was indicated that the stronger the growth status of the investigated
Pinus armandii trees were, the more boring holes made by
Pissodes puctatus adults andmore resin leaking points were found on the trunk of the host trees.It was also showed that the weaker the growth status of the investigated
Pinus armandii trees were, the more oviposition traces were found on the host tree trunk, which would forecast the possibile outbreak of the
Pissodes puctatus pests.
