Abstract:
The fluorescence parameters, contents of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, carotenoid and the total chlorophyll, soluble sugar, soluble protein in the leaves, dry and fresh-leaf biomasses of
Vernicia fordii plants were determined after having been treated with the solutions of 2 m mol/L(TreatmentⅠ), 5 m mol/L(Treatment Ⅱ) and 10 m mol/L(Treatment Ⅲ) NaHSO
3.It was showed by the results that the contents of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, carotenoid and the content of the total chlorophyll in the leaves increased after the plants had been treated by NaHSO
3 solutions. There were increments for the superfacial electron transmission ratio of the leaves under maturated impulse model(R3 model) and the superfacial electron transmission ratio of the leaves increased under 247
μ mol/m
2.s light intensity.NaHSO
3 solution treatments could also increase the contents of soluble sugar, soluble protein, dry weight and fresh weight per unit leaf area, and the increasing effect could last for at least 12 days.It was proved that the solution concentration with 2 m mol/L NaHSO
3 was the most effective among the three kinds of tested concentrations.
